The previous owner of our townhouse left bunch of junks/furniture behind them, one of the stuff was a random mirror about 24" x 30" without any framing or backing, just a single piece of mirror... It's kind of perfect size for a bathroom mirror but I don't want to use those ugly plastic clip to mount it on the wall, so I drew up a simple design which I can utilize some of the left-over material from the closet storage.
I want the mirror to have some storage but don't like the bulky look of those mirror/medical cabinet, and I'm also not a big fan of those mirror in a picture frame. Plus I don't want to buy any extra material, so this is the final design I came up with.
It's pretty simple to build, and to my surprise the build went quite smoothly. One bigger mistake I made was I forgot to protect back of the mirror when I'm sanding the frame (the reflective coating is at the back of mirror!!) so there are some backing damaged at the corner. It wasn't a big deal since this is only for ourselves, but I will definitely make sure it won't happen again if I'm going to build another stuff that has a mirror in it!
